Computed Tomography (CT Scan)
CT, or Computed Tomography scanning, is a diagnostic tool used to examine various parts of your pet’s body, including organs, bones, muscles, and other internal tissues.
In the Singapore veterinary scene, CT scanners are rare. We are proud to be one of the few clinics in Singapore offering in-house animal CT scanning. This advanced technology enhances our diagnostic accuracy and provides detailed information, allowing us to offer the best treatment options for your pet.
When Are CT Scans Used?
CT scans provide highly detailed images of internal anatomy, offering more accuracy compared to radiography or ultrasound. They are particularly useful for staging cancer, diagnosing complex orthopedic conditions, or detecting dental abscesses in pets.
The results help vets plan precise surgical approaches, reducing surgery time and ensuring safe, accurate procedures. This also minimizes the time your pet spends under anesthesia, enhancing their overall safety during surgery.
Case Study – Cat with Locked Jaw
In this CT 3D reconstruction, the cat was suffering from a locked jaw due to severe bone adhesion between the jaw and facial bone, preventing it from opening its mouth. The CT scan provided a precise diagnosis and enabled the vet to plan the necessary surgical treatment with accuracy, ensuring a better outcome for the cat.
