Dental health in our pets does not stop at just bad breath. Dentistry is an often overlooked service and dental health has a strong impact on our pets’ quality of life.

Why is dental health important?

Bad breath can indicate an underlying condition in your pet’s health. Rotten teeth or inflamed gums (gingivitis) can lead to further problems such as abscess formation, severe pain and a subsequent loss of appetite.

At Advanced Vetcare, we are well-equipped to perform routine dental scaling, polishing and extractions.

Dental scaling and cleaning are routine procedures which can dramatically increase the health of your pet’s mouth by removing plague and bacteria. This is especially important if you do not brush your dog’s or cat’s teeth on a regular basis.

Prior to extractions, we use nerve blocks for local anaesthetic and to ease oral pain during the recovery process.

What kind of pets require dental screenings?

Dental screening and check-ups can benefit many species of pets. We commonly provide dental services for dogs, cats and pocket pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters.
